The Importance of Reading
Reading can be considered as the heart of all the abilities of the learning process, because any acquired knowledge necessarily is learnt by the reading. When children and teenagers enter to the world of reading, this becomes a motor for their intellectual and personal development. For a long time, the society believed that, once a person learnt how to read in the school, this ability was acquired forever. But that is not true. The reading process which involves interpretation and understanding of a message, it is an aspect of the language that it is in continuous evolution.
Every day new terms that surprise, appear and through reading they are possible to understand and dominate.
Reading allows entering in contact with great quantity of information, through the written texts: books, newspapers, magazines and more; and in this way it is how a process of social exchange is achieved. For this reason, thanks to the reading process a person can have access to information of any place, person or event.
Reading is the key of knowledge; it is the most important way of picking up information. Therefore, since the reading process is interpretation, understanding and communication, it is indispensable to improve it day by day.
